The Life-Driven Ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness LeeI am from mainland China. I came to the USA in 1990 for graduate study. In May 1992 I was baptized in a non-denominational church. From deep in my heart, I had an eagerness to seek God and His salvation. In 1993, I met a brother in the Lord who introduced the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee to me. From then on, their ministry, especially their spoken ministry has become a daily necessity to me in my Christian life. It is almost impossible to know and seek God without reading the Bible. The Bible for me is too deep to understand. After I read Watchman Nee and Witness Lee's books, I started to understand the true meaning of the word in the Bible. To my understanding, throughout centuries, so many of God's children have been laboring in the Word of God and have left us with a tremendous treasure concerning the living Word in the Bible. The ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee is based upon this wonderful treasure to open up almost every word in the Bible and to minister the riches of Christ to the believers through the living Word. Psalms 119:130 says: “The opening of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple,” and 119:105: “Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” This ministry has opened my eyes to experience Christ and His salvation through the enlightening words and through meeting with other Christians. Watchman Nee's books are full of divine revelations. His book, The Glorious Church, helped me to see God's eternal purpose, God's plan, and God's church. Another book of Watchman Nee's, Authority and Submission thoroughly unveils and explains God's authority-God Himself, God's kingdom-the domain of His authority, and God's principle-humbleness and submission, which constitute His administration in the universe. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob guided me to experience different aspects of God's salvation and God's ordained way for the Christian life. The Normal Christian Faith helped me see that the basis, center, and focus of Christian faith is a living person-Jesus of Nazareth. These books helped me realize that God's salvation, grace, love, righteousness, authority, etc. are Christ Himself. This wonderful Person constitutes the whole Christian faith. Without this Person, the Christian faith becomes an empty religion without any spiritual reality. This Person now is the Spirit of reality that guides His believers into all the reality (John 16:13). Moreover, to me, the most influential books of Witness Lee are his Life-Study series, which is really a life-driven series that nourishes me so much in my Christian life. I bought a whole set of his Life-Studies from Genesis to Revelation. It is a series that brings me into experiencing and enjoying the bountiful riches of Christ dispensed from the Father, through the Son as the life-giving-spirit (John 1:14, 1 Corinthians 15:45). I cannot imagine how much the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee has helped me turn away from vain religious duties and doctrines to this living Person-Jesus of Nazareth, my savior, my salvation, my righteousness, my new life, my new person, my all in all.
